Recently, with the full opening of Beijing Subway Line 10, the Polaris clocks at more than 50 stations on the 57-kilometer mileage of Line 10 play an important role in the busy subway operation. In the past decade, Polaris has been moving forward with Beijing's rapidly developing urban rail transit, and has been the main force of Beijing Metro's time synchronization system in the process of large-scale and rapid development of urban rail transit in Beijing. Among the 16 lines that have been opened in Beijing Metro, 12 lines including Line 4, Line 5, Line 6, Line 8, Line 9, Line 10, Line 15, Airport Line, Yizhuang Line, Daxing Line, Beijing TCC, and the first subway network command center in China have successively applied the Polaris time synchronization system designed and manufactured by Yantai Clock and Watch Research Institute Co., Ltd. Polaris has become the largest supplier of urban rail transit clock systems in the Beijing-Tianjin area.
Polaris clocks can be seen in nearly 200 stations in the more than 400 kilometers of Beijing subway. Among them, Beijing TCC (Beijing Urban Rail Transit Network Management Center) is known as the "super center" of rail transit network management. It is the national subway network command center. Through the use of modern information integration systems and management models, it assumes the command and control functions of Beijing's rail transit, coordinates and manages multiple rail transit lines and multiple operating entities, realizes information sharing, improves operation management efficiency, and provides a basis and platform for the Beijing Municipal Government to monitor, manage, and command operations, as well as emergency response and decision-making for emergencies. The system brings all clock equipment on all lines in the Beijing regional urban rail transit network under centralized control, provides a time benchmark for all clock system equipment, and monitors and manages them.
In more than ten years of practical application, the Polaris time synchronization system has been trusted by users and widely used. In addition to being used in many Beijing subway projects, many domestic and foreign rail transit projects have applied the Polaris time synchronization system, such as: Guangzhou Metro Line 1-5, Shanghai Light Rail, Metro and other 9 lines, Nanjing Metro Line 6, Iran Tehran Metro Line 5, Tianjin Light Rail, Ningbo Metro and dozens of other rail transit projects, which have won unanimous praise from the users and contributed to the rapid development of domestic and foreign rail transit. In 2008, the Institute was commended by the Beijing Rail Transit Construction Management for its contribution to the manufacturing, installation and technical support of the clock systems of Beijing Metro related Olympic projects: Line 4, Line 5, Line 8, Line 10 and Airport Line.
With the continuous development of Beijing's rail transit network and the world's rail transit industry, requirements are being put forward for the technology and quality of rail transit-related supporting equipment.
